ANOTHER ‘TAKEOVER’: THIS ONE NEARER TO HOME

So why do we fell this independent pine of Norfolk Island?    Matthew Lesh,  The Australian November 21, 2017     Most Australians know little of Norfolk Island. It is, after all, a small island territory with just 1700 inhabitants located 1400km from our mainland. Nevertheless, we should be concerned about the disastrous economic and social consequences following the Australian government’s elimination of Norfolk’s self-rule.  The Australian government has thrown out basic principles of self-determination and good government in a brazen Canberra-knows-best takeover.

In June 2015, Australia abolished Norfolk’s government, legislative assembly and public service, and appointed an external administrator and an advisory council. The island also has been incorporated into NSW, though it has no say in the state government. The takeover, which was undertaken against the wishes of 68 per cent of Norfolk residents, has inevitably had devastating consequences.

Courageous Canada Targets Russia — Washington Says Jump — Ottawa Asks How High?

Your site provides a considerable amount of historical information on the “money question” but concentrates wrongly on the question of interest charges made by the credit creation of private bankers with the usual misguided recommendation that “private money creation” should be vested in the hands of sovereign governments. The fatal flaw in this recommendation is that it would place the power of money, or credit, creation as a centralized power resident in the hands of the State. This proviso is one of the main points of the Communist Manifesto and state control of credit was exercised also by the fascist States. Credit is the means of activating real productive resources and State control of its issue and cancellation confers centralized control over the entire real credit, i.e., productive capacity, of a nation. This control combined with a mis-conceived policy of “full-employment”, which you clearly have endorsed, is a certain recipe for tyranny.

WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY ‘THE RULE OF LAW’? WHOSE LAW? WHICH LAW?

It would be worth while in looking at what is happening in Canada and the move for COMPELLED SPEECHFrom Jordan B. Peterson:

Recently, the Law Society of Upper Canada (Ontario) has made major revisions to their requirements for the annual submission for legal practitioners in that province. As part of a five-part strategic program known as “Accelerating Culture Shift,” all lawyers are now required to write, submit and abide by a “Statement of Principles.” The details can be viewed here https://www.lsuc.on.ca/EDI/ -- a site which indicates what lawyers now need to “KNOW AND DO” (caps in the original) for 2017.

Internet Censorship

Wallace Klinck writes:

Not surprised—especially after watching the U.S. hearings earlier today.  They are challenged to effect censorship without revealing it to the general public and I am sure will use any subterfuge which they think they can get away with.  I am much afraid that the Internet is in process of being “scrubbed”.  A criminal tragedy.     Read further here: https://jamesperloff.com/2017/10/27/the-war-on-truth-is-a-lonely-warrior/

As the horror show over high gas prices unfolds, Big Gas Con whistleblower and analyst, Simone Marsh, reports on National Party donations, the gas lobby, the “revolving doors” between industry and politics, and Deputy Prime Minister Barnaby Joyce and his land parcel at Narrabri where Santos is planning to drill. Same-sex ‘marriage’ is causing a schism among Catholics in Australia

Many Australians, including Bishops, do not appear to be aware that while Christians are being bullied and punished now for opposing SSM, it will be immeasurably worse if this legislation is passed. This is our last opportunity to save our freedom of religion! The heterosexual nature of marriage is not only a religious concept, but has been accepted for millennia in all cultures, secular and religious alike. It is simply a matter of biology and human reason.

Many homosexuals oppose the “gay lobby” and support the rights of children to know and be loved by their own natural parents: https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/homosexual-activists-aim-to-destroy-the-family-impose-totalitarianism-gay-p     The silence and timid platitudes apparent in the Church is a matter of grave concern for Australian Catholics, and Christians generally.

WALLACE KLINCK AND SKY NEWS REPORT

Universal basic income may counter automationPublished: 3:23 pm, Sunday, 24 September 2017http://www.skynews.com.au/tech/2017/09/24/universal-basic-income-may-counter-automation.html     Losing your job to a robot might not necessarily be all doom and gloom if governments revolutionise the way we can earn a crust. That’s the hope of social policy academic Professor Greg Marston, who wants Australia to join other nations in debating the merits of introducing a universal basic income to help with an expected surge in unemployment that the rise of robots may bring.

The University of Queensland academic and other proponents of the UBI, including Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg and Tesla’s Elon Musk, argue governments need policies that provide an economic floor for people who lose their jobs or are forced to work fewer hours as a result of greater automation.Governments would pay all adults a basic salary of about $20,000 to cover their basic bills, but there would be no requirement to work.

Qld LNP/ALP joined forces to stop farmers from having guns by cairnsnews

THE LNP and the ALP have once again teamed up to defeat a common sense measure put forward by the Katter’s Australia Party; this time in relation to primary producers who need to use handguns for their work. The Motion, which called for the parliament to support the rights of Primary Producers to own handguns, was voted down by the Government and LNP.

“The Government has continued its attack on regional Queensland and the LNP has supported them. These city based politicians really have no understanding of what life is like west of Ipswich”, Mount Isa MP Robbie Katter said.

What’s changed in Britain since same-sex marriage? - David Sergeant

https://www.spectator.com.au/2017/09/whats-changed-in-britain-since-same-sex-marriage/     Four years ago, amid much uncertainty, 400 British members of parliament voted to redefine marriage in the United Kingdom.  Then prime minister David Cameron announced that, despite having made no mention of the issue in his party’s pre-election manifesto, it would be MP’s who decided the fate of marriage.  Now, it’s Australia’s turn to choose. There’s one key difference. Unlike in Britain, it will be the people who decide.

Everyone agrees, whether they admit it or not. This is a decision of enormous significance.  Therefore, it seems sensible to analyse the consequences of the potential change, within nations in which redefinition has previously been carried out.

Same Sex Marriage debate - reply from Wallace Klinck

http://www.abc.net.au/news/programs/national-press-club/2017-09-13/national-press-club:-same-sex-marriage/8941880

Hello Lou,    Many thanks—this link brings up and plays the Press Club event immediately and I am grateful for the opportunity to view the discussion.  I think that Lyle Shelton and Karina Okotel conducted themselves with dignity and respectfully presented, with honesty, a number of entirely valid comments.  Of course, in final analysis no popular plebiscite, referendum or election will or can establish the rightness or wrongness of homosexuality, per se, in terms of Natural or Divine Law because that is something inherent in the laws of the Universe, which man did not create.

Cory Bernardi - Common Sense Lives Here

It's been a chaotic couple of days in the Senate and there's no sign of that changing this week! The usual argy-bargy over procedure and process continues but it is the legislative agenda that is worthy of comment.

Specifically there are two bills that have failed the common sense test. The first of these is about 'protections' to make hurt feelings an offence during the debate on redefining marriage. This was rushed into the senate this morning and within hours passed with little critical examination - but with plenty of emotional and self-serving stories over how nasty the debate has been.Unlike most, I chose to question the government over some contents of the bill and frankly wasn’t satisfied with the answers.Firstly, it overturns the people's right to access the legal system by requiring their complaint to be first approved by the Attorney-General, who coincidentally is a cheerleader for the rainbow brigade.

Welcome to 1984: Big Brother Google Now Watching Your Every Political Move By Robert Bridge

     RT News, September 12, 2017  https://www.rt.com/op-edge/402588-google-eric-schmidt-republicans/

Google has taken the unprecedented step of burying material, mostly from websites on the political right, that it has deemed to be inappropriate. The problem, however, is that the world’s largest search engine is a left-leaning company with an axe to grind.Let’s face it, deep down in our heart of hearts we knew the honeymoon wouldn’t last forever. Our willingness to place eternal faith in an earth-straddling company that oversees the largest collection of information ever assembled was doomed to end in a bitter divorce from the start. After all, each corporation, just like humans, has their own political proclivities, and Google is certainly no exception. But we aren’t talking about your average car company here.

LABOR POLICY TO USE LAW TO ‘PUNISH’ THOSE WHO DON’T CONFORM Lyle Shelton

Source: Australian Christian Lobby      There is a school of thought in the debate about redefining marriage that it is inevitable and that Christians should just sue for peace with the same-sex marriage activists.  Try and extract as many protections for religious freedom as possible and roll over.To make it easier for us to capitulate, leading politicians such as Opposition Leader Bill Shorten, Attorney General George Brandis and Tim Wilson say same-sex marriage and freedom of religion can co-exist.  “I don’t accept the religious practice in this country is under threat,” Mr Shorten said this week.

What he is essentially saying is it is okay to go to church and believe what you like there.  But what is under threat, and what Mr Shorten is not telling us, is that religious practice outside the church, mosque or synagogue is under grave threat should the definition of marriage in law be changed.
